This coastal infrastructure project in Poland required reliable off-grid lighting and site surveillance along the coastal quay road and seaside public parking area. Traditional wired lighting would involve expensive cable trenching, high installation cost and complicated civil construction in the coastal saline environment. GCOT Solar provided a combined lighting & security solution with 100 sets SL-AIO-XS40 all-in-one solar street lights with built-in CCTV camera to meet the client’s demand.

Main Site Challenges

1. Coastal salt fog corrosion: The project is located in the seaside area. High humidity and salt spray in marine atmosphere easily corrode ordinary lighting equipment, shortening service life.

2. Strong coastal wind load: The coastal zone faces frequent strong winds. Conventional split solar street lights have separate, exposed solar panels, which are vulnerable to shaking, deformation or damage under high wind conditions, bringing safety risks and extra maintenance work.

3. No accessible power grid: It is costly and time-consuming to dig trenches and lay power cables along the coastal quay and parking lot. Grid-connected wiring is not economically feasible.

4. Dual requirement for lighting + security: The client needed both road/parking night lighting AND continuous site monitoring. Separate installation of streetlights and surveillance cameras would double the material and construction budget.

5. Limited construction window: Coastal construction is affected by weather. The customer needed fast installation to reduce on-site working time and labour cost.

We selected the SL-AIO-XS40 integrated solar street light with CCTV for this coastal project.

Project Result

After installation, the 100 units of SL-AIO-XS40 serve the coastal quay road and seaside parking lot perfectly. The integrated solution solved multiple core pain points of the customer at one time: public area night lighting, site safety monitoring, salt fog corrosion and strong wind hazards. Without complicated cabling work, the total project investment and later maintenance workload were significantly reduced. The lamps keep stable performance under seaside salt-fog and strong wind environment, helping the local government build a safe, low-carbon and smart coastal public infrastructure.
